ran in the Free Press this morning.
I wholeheartedly agree with MyhonestOPINION and certainly not just because we own the last of Manitoba's ONLY locally owned and operated breweries.
As my lovely wife, Nicole pointed out to some folks at a business meeting not too long ago, it's silly to feature Homecoming commercials, advertising, and propaganda that make people who've moved away think things haven't changed here since 1975. With that attitude, you'd be further ahead to stay wherever you've moved to rather than coming home for a much needed visit. God knows with all the big box outlets, super centers, and chain restaurants you might as well stay home, since you'd be hard pressed in some areas of the city to think you're not in the same nameless decrepitude of sameness in any number of North American cities.
Instead of featuring places that Manitobans remember as being better than they really are, it'd be nice if they'd feature the future of Manitoba. I can think of a few off the top of my head, as I'm sure you can, too.
To put this in terms that Mr. Walters (a former music industry guy) might understand:
Would Manitobans really be having a social featuring Nickelback instead of The Weakerthans?
I seriously doubt it.
So why should they expect anything less in their beer?
