Slam That, Try This

Thursday, June 3, 2010

We had a bit of a shaker over at ours last night for the brewery staff - using the Stanley Game 3 as an excuse... like we need an excuse to drink great beer.

Fun was had by all, even though the game didn't turn out as we'd hoped.

Our trading rule at the brewery worked out well, as we tried a few great beers from around the world. I was particularily impressed by the folks at Railway City Brewing for their lovely Dead Elephant Ale.

Keep us in mind if you find tasty beer on your summer travels.

In the news
Look for my goofy mug in this weekend's Free Press - I'll post a link to the article when I'm back from the weekend. Basically, we don't do lime beer - I've ranted here about it before, so I won't subject you to more. Suffice to say, micro's need to be leaders in the beer community, not blind followers. For all we know, the big guys bought stock in lime fields and they're trying to jack up the prices.

Black IPA News
Our Black IPA should be ready for release on the 19th of June. This is a limited beer release, with approximately 120 x 24's of the beer available. We'll open the doors at 9a.m. sharp, and I think it'd be reasonable to put a 24 bottle cap per person on the purchases.

We're not doing any fancy packaging or labels with this one, since it is the Scrapper recipe we used as a base, that's what we're labeling it as and charging for. It does however, have a boatload of finishing hops in the brew and as such is much more aromatic and oily than the regular scrapper.
