Sparge Water Lyrics

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Well, after a rocking night on Saturday, the requests have come flooding in for a peek at some of the lyrical genius of Sparge Water.  If anyone has some clear photo's of the night, please send them to info@halfpintsbrewing.com and I'll post them up.

Sparge Water thanks the Lo, The Thrashers, The Vibrating Beds and of course Transistor 66 Records for helping to set things up with the bands as well.  I think it was a perfect night of rock & roll that you had a tough time sitting on your ass for.

Here goes... full versions with links to sing along!

Bittering Hop
Hey you, let's brew x4
Wort is in the sight line,
my beer is in your draught lines,
beer geeks are losing their minds,
Bittering Hop
Hand is on the valve seat,
we're generating steam heat,
Sparge Water's got the back beat,
Bittering Hop
Hey you let's brew,
Shoot em down your neck now,
What they want, I don't know,
We're all stocked up and ready to go!

Beer Taster
Got me a dayjob, I want you to know
Sippin' on samples, make sure they're just so
Zahlm'n the carbo, not high, not too low
Don't know about you, but I'm here to:
Check carbonation
Test oxidation
Set the filtration
Drop fermentation
Wanna grow up to be, be a Beer Taster

“Beer Me”
I know I’m thirsty, I need a beer
But my bartender, he isn’t here
He knows my order, it’s always the same
No need to bother with another name

I drink the Scrapper ‘cause I likes the hops
Oh where is Jack man, yeah that kid’s the tops
No need to holler, no need to wave
We keep it simple with this three word phrase:

Chorus: It’s like beer me, beer me, beer me now...
And don’t you let me run dry

I’ve scanned your beer list – it’s uninspired
Pale Euro lagers undoubtedly expired
I say we take off, I say we go
And if we hustle we can make it for last call at the Lo

It’s unassuming, the feeling fits
A place where two pints can quickly lead to six
And when that happens, you call a cab
Well if a cab is on the way, how about a nightcap?

Half Pints
She was at the bar, she heard my guitar
She was long and tall, she was the queen of them all
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints
She was dark and discreet, she was malty and sweet
She was filled to the rim, on my lips was a grin
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints
Down below they danced and sang in the street
While up in the room was spinning with HEAT
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints

I was feeling no pain, feeling good in my brain
I looked in her eyes, they were full of surprise
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints
I asked for another, she smiled and filled up my glass
The party just beginning, this beer's gonna knock me on my ass
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints
Now I'm back at the bar, she went a little too far
she done me wrong, all I got is this song
Half Pints, talkin' bout' Half Pints

When I'm 64
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still drink Heimer in the month of May
Stand in line on Burlywine Day?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

You'll enjoy our brew,
And if you say the word,
We could drink with you.

I could be handy, making some brews
When the nights are long.
You can sit drinking by the fireside
Designated driver, go for a ride.

Drinkin' Smoketober, Humulus, too,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Hoo!

The way I see it is this:
You really only have one true chance to make a difference with a tiny little x.

You don't have to work, pay taxes, feed, clothe, shelter or even wash yourself if you don't want to.

You can sit in an alley somewhere and watch societies crumble just for the chance to use that little x.

If you want to keep those little luxuries, you've gotta get your ass out there and pop that x on that card.

Today is that day.  Today is your day to be heard.

PS. Don't come back whining that you can't get behind someone who's running cause they're all blah, blah blah, rhetoric rhetoric rhetoric... the only person who's gonna help you get what you want is you.  If you can't get behind someone, sign yourself up to run in the next election and change the world how you see fit.  Then we can all complain about you.
